The North East of Scotland is full of unique success stories in various businesses and organisations across our region. Ensuring that these success stories thrive is crucial to moving our corner of the country forward.
It is because these groups do so much in creating jobs, fuelling our economy, and improving lives in our communities that Government must deliver for them. This means ensuring that people in the North East can travel to and from these success stories using safe and adequate infrastructure. That's why I have, and will continue, calling on the Scottish Government to take action and improve the junction at the Toll of Birness. Improving travel times and saving lives. Similarly, it is why I'm also backing the calls made by my Scottish Conservative colleagues to dual the A96. A promise the SNP are failing to uphold.
For many businesses and organisations they continue to be held back by punitive and unfair business rates. By continuing to impose these rates the SNP are stifling investment into our region and forcing many entrepreneurs to choose between raising prices or closing up. I’ve demanded the Scottish Government to urgently review these rates, and I will keep doing so until they level the playing field.
